Providing sanitation facilities in rural areas in one of the most important developmental challenges for our country. We cannot hope to build a nation unless such basic amenities are provided to our population. The Ministry of Rural Development

programme has launched a total sanitation campaign and is present in the 'Nirmal Gram Puraskar' on February 24. 2005 for promoting sanitation and hygiene in rural areas. It is certainly a milestone in the whole rural sanitation drive.
