Warning Against Nipah Virus Infection  (NiV)

You are aware of the malignant Nipah virus infection(NiV) caused by Nipah Virus has broken out in an epidemic stage.It spread typically requires direct contact with an infected  source. The disease is spreading rapidly and causing death to many people as of 2018 there is no vaccine for a specific treatment for it.
As of may 2018 about 700 human cases of nipah virus are estimated to have occurred and 50% to 70% of those who were infected died.Not only that, in May 2018, at least 17 people have died in the Indian state of Kerala.
The virus normally circulates among a specific type of fruit bats .
So you are requested to avoid exposure to bats endemic areas and sick pigs to prevent this infection. Drinking of raw palm sap contaminated by bat excrete, eating of fruits partially consumed by bats and using water from Wells infested by bats should be avoided.
If any member of a family for any neighbours is seen with some symptoms (fever,headache,cough and mental confusion ) of nipah virus infection, the patient should be taken to nearly clinic or hospital for blood examination.The advice of doctor should be taken without any delay
