As there is a dearth of crude oil in the country, it is imported from oil-rich countries.  Crude Oil is refined for various uses. First, crude oil is heated in the fuel sector in a refinery.  Through atmospheric distillation motor spirit, aviation of turbine fuel, high speed disel, kerosene, furnace oil, L.P.G. etc. are produced at different temperatures. Then reduce crude is taken to lubricating sector.  Through vacuum distillation various lubricating oil-based stocks are formed. The byproduct of naptha , bitumen, rubber extender oil, black wax etc. Then refined oil products are sent to different parts of the country.  The medium of transport are pipeline  (28 %) , road (25%) ,  and waterways (31%).
